| 19. LF/HF |
LF and HF stand for Low-Frequency and High-Frequency bands, which represent the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic activity, respectively.
The LF/HF ratio reflects the balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic activity. The normal range is between LF(ms2)/HF(ms2) = 0.27 - 0.38. A lower ratio of LF/HF indicates a high Parasympathetic stress level, and a higher ratio indicates an increased Sympathetic activity which is a biomarker of stress. |
